Witch Doctor
Turn a small control opening into a dangerous fight while channeling from a protected angle.
First check
Can Paralyzing Cask bounce through the targets you want, and who can interrupt Death Ward?
Play as Witch Doctor
- Cast Paralyzing Cask when enemy spacing makes the bounces useful. A lone target and a packed wave create very different openings.
- Apply Maledict after an ally can keep the target in range of damage; casting it on a hero already escaping gives little follow-up.
- Before Death Ward, check the interrupt and choose cover that keeps you alive without cutting your team off from the target.
Play against Witch Doctor
- Separate from nearby units when he looks for Paralyzing Cask so one cast cannot control several heroes in sequence.
- Hold a reachable interrupt or repositioning response for Death Ward instead of spending every spell on his front line.
- If Maledict lands, avoid donating more damage to the focused target; create space or use the current defensive response your lineup has.
Make the lesson stick
Review three Death Wards: note the cover, enemy interrupt ready, allies controlling the target, and whether the channel changed an objective.
