Can the enemy leave your attack range, and which wave lets you pressure without overextending?

On your team

Play as Viper

Trade from a position that protects your wave control, rather than chasing past the enemy’s support route.
Place Nethertoxin where the target must stand or cross, then let allies capitalize on that displacement.
After winning lane space, push the next wave with teammates before walking toward a tower or enemy jungle.

On the enemy team

Play against Viper

Avoid repeated isolated trades into Viper; bring a partner or change the wave position before contesting.
Step away from Nethertoxin’s area and use another approach to the target or objective.
Pressure his slow reposition between lanes when he has extended far from allies to maintain attack range.
