Who benefits most from Frost Shield, and where can Chain Frost bounce?

On your team

Play as Lich

  1. Use Frost Shield on the ally who must survive the next contact, then position where you can cast another spell afterward.
  2. Look at nearby units before Chain Frost. A cast into useful bounce paths is stronger than one spent on a hero already leaving the fight.
  3. If your lane partner cannot follow a slow, use the spell to protect a wave or retreat rather than forcing an isolated trade.
On the enemy team

Play against Lich

  1. Separate when Chain Frost is ready so one cast cannot repeatedly hit the same small group.
  2. Make Lich choose between protecting his front line and saving the back line by threatening two reachable angles.
  3. When Frost Shield is on the target, reassess whether to wait, switch targets, or take map space instead of continuing a poor damage trade.
